Lake Country monitoring water supply after low snowpack

The District of Lake Country says it is closely watching water supplies after an unusually low snowpack this winter.
In a statement, the district said snow levels are well below average and could put pressure on local water sources as the region moves toward summer.
Crews have already started conservation steps, including increasing water from Okanagan Lake and Kalamalka Lake while reducing releases from Beaver Lake and Oyama Lake to preserve storage.
Mayor Blair Ireland said there is no immediate concern, but restrictions may be needed if conditions do not improve.
