Pop up recycling returns to Central Okanagan locations

Mar 6, 2026 | 6:01 AM

The regional district is making it easier for residents who are far from a recycling depot to drop off items.

Pop-up recycling depots will return this year in Lake Country and Peachland.

Depot-only materials such as flexible plastics, foam packaging and non-deposit glass bottles and jars can be disposed of on select Saturdays this month, April, June and October. That’ll save residents a trip to depots in other larger communities.

The 2025 pop-up depots diverted more than 13.6 tonnes of recyclable materials from landfill helping to reduce recycling contamination.

Peachland Recycling Pop-Up Depots

March 14 (Beach Avenue Boat Launch parking area)

April 11, July 11 and October 3 (4450 6th Street, Peachland Community Centre visitor parking lot)

Lake Country Recycling Pop-Up Depots

March 28, April 25, July 25 and October 17 (10150 Bottom Wood Lake Road District of Lake Country Municipal Hall parking lot)

Both communities are offering random prize draws for participants as an added incentive to attend.
