Local man accused in daylight knife attack

Mar 5, 2026 | 4:19 PM

A man has appeared in court after being charged with stabbing his victim in broad daylight in Kelowna earlier this week.

It happened lunchtime Tuesday at the intersection of Capri Street and Harvey Avenue during an attempted robbery.

Kelowna’s Brady Dolphin is accused of assault with a weapon, failure to comply with probation order, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.

Police say the person who was stabbed was unknown to him.

In a media release, Kelowna RCMP said Mounties flooded the area on getting the 911 call and the first officer got the scene inside four minutes.

“The coordinated police response resulted in an unpredictable situation being brought to a safe conclusion,” Corporal Steven Lang, Kelowna RCMP Media Relations Officer, said.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken with police to contact the Kelowna RCMP, or offer any dash cam footage if they travelled along Harvey Avenue between Burtch Road and Gordon Drive 12pm to 1pm on Tuesday.
