Vernon Track and Field Club recognized with athletics award

The local organization that puts on foot races has been recognized for its hard work.

The Vernon Track and Field Club earned the Gold Star Club of the Year Award at the 2026 B.C. Athletics Awards.

The award was in recognition of the club putting on provincial cross country championships in 2025 and 2025, and their ongoing leadership and service in elevating the sport.

“Their commitment not only created exceptional athlete experiences, it brought the community together and showcased what high-quality event hosting can look like in British Columbia,” a release from the club stated.
