To Mom, family was everything. She was so proud of the fact that five generations were alive at the same time.
Teresa Mary Vanlerberg was born April 26, 1929, in Victoria, BC, and passed away November 18, 2025, in Vernon, BC at the age of 96. She is survived by her children: Wilma, Robert (Sherry), and John (Jackie). She had ten grandchildren, as well as 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mom worked hard her whole life. Her earliest job was weeding gardens for neighbours, where she got paid in vegetables. Over the years she was a mother’s helper, worked in a bakery, a shoe repair shop, and a retail store. She ran the family farm and later did housecleaning.
She lived a full and active life. Mom was a 5-pin bowler for over 50 years, played darts, was a 4H leader, delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped with catering at the Eagles. She loved knitting and sewing, and she was always fixing something, whether she was patching a knee in a pair of pants or hammering a board back onto the fence.
As per Mom’s request, there will be no service. Her ashes will be interred in Vernon.
