April 7, 1960 – October 22, 2025

With sadness in our hearts we announce that Wendy Lynn Maloy took her last breath surrounded by love and family, on October 22, 2025, in Vernon, BC.

Now reunited and predeceased by her mother, Mary Gorcak, father, Henry Gorcak, sister, Linda Gorcak, brothers, Michael Gorcak and Robbie Gorcak, and nephew, Roddy Gorcak.

Wendy was the glue and heart of her family, a devoted wife to her husband, Bill Maloy, and a fierce mama bear to her children, Cliff Nelson (Megan), Michael Nelson (Lindsey), Linda Nelson (Jamie) and Samantha Maloy (Kelly). She was a proud grandmother to Mackenize Nelson, Kamila Nelson, Maci Nelson, Miley Nelson, and Morgan Nelson, all of whom were her pride and joy. Wendy was also a loving sister to Debbie Gorcak, Bonnie Henderson and Sonny Eden, a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to countless others who will miss her dearly.

Wendy grew up in East Van making lifelong friends and later settled in Lumby, BC, with the love of her life, Bill, fulfilling her dream of owning a hobby farm, Willow Creek. In true Wendy fashion, she faced her battle with cancer with incredible strength and determination — a testament to her courageous spirit.

Wendy was everything one could hope for in this world — generous, nurturing, resilient, hilarious and always looking out for those she loved. Her smile, strength, and unwavering devotion left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

While she may no longer be with us physically, Wendy’s spirit will live on through each of us and the countless memories we hold deeply in our hearts. Her legacy will continue through all the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.

May she fly high with the eagles, forever watching over us, and always remain in our thoughts and hearts.
