Canada’s Most Misspelled Words

Jun 9, 2017 | 6:57 AM

One of the best feelings is typing “how to…” in the Google search bar and seeing what you need to know in the first line, it confirms that you’re not alone in whatever mess you’re in. Whether it’s “how to change a tire” or “how to get gum out of your hair.”

Last week, Google released a list of words that people in each American state don’t know how to spell, they did this right before the national spelling bee.

This week, Maclean’s asked Google to do the same for Canadian provinces and territories.

It’s kind of funny that both B.C. and Washington were confused with how to spell “pneumonia”. And what is going on with Quebec not knowing how to spell blueberry? Not to judge or anything, but it’s a berry that’s blue…

The biggest question though is why Albertans were so interested in supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? To be fair,a reboot is coming this year with Emily Blunt as the famous nanny, but it still makes you wonder why.

Is there a word you can never spell right?
