LAMBERT, Erika Marianne (Nee Baron)
Posted Apr 23, 2025 | 10:34 AM

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erika Marianne Lambert after a feisty battle with multiple health issues. Erika was born in Rathenow East Germany. Her mother, father and sister escaped and moved as refugees to Vernon in 1953.
Erika was a dedicated Teacher at heart, continuing to tutor students well into her retirement. A woman of many talents and interests, she was an accomplished artist, poet, and a skilled practitioner of reflexology. She also expressed her creativity through craftsmanship, operating an appliqué clothing business for a time. Erika had a deep passion for family history and spent countless hours researching and documenting her family’s genealogy. She was an active member of her book club, enjoyed Hallmark movies, and found great meaning in Bible study. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed skiing and playing golf.
Known for her thoughtfulness, Erika kept a detailed calendar of birthdays and special occasions for family and friends. She frequently sent personalized cards featuring her own artwork, a testament to her creativity and care.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and her church community brought her great joy and support. Erika’s nightly text messages—often ending with “May God bless us all” followed by one or more heart emojis—will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Erika was a loving Mother to Duane (Kimberly), Carey (Brad). She was so proud of her grandsons Jake and Kaleb. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Ingrid (Dennis) and nieces and nephews as well as cousins both here and in Germany. Due to her social nature, Erika made friends easily. She had many lifelong friends, one of which she was so excited to re-connect with in her recent move to Heron Grove in Vernon.
Erika was predeceased by her parents Stan & Adele and her sister Christel.
We would like to Thank everyone who had a loving hand in caring for Erika in the last few years. The many Doctors, Community Nurses, Hospital staff, various care aides, and her “advocates” as she called them from Faith Baptist Church in Kelowna.
Further details regarding the Memorial Service will be shared with family and friends when they become available.
Heavenly Sunshine
Glows from this gold mine:
Heavenly Sunshine
Flows over the field:
Proud sunflowers yield
To face sun, by design:
Streams into my soul
With glory divine!
