Local Restorative Justice Services has relocated to a new site
The local program that mediates meetings and brings about resolutions between victims and perpetrators of crime has moved to a new office.
Restorative Justice Services, operated by the Vernon and District branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, has relocated from the City of Vernon Community Safety Office to People Place at 3402 27th Ave.
“We are excited to continue the important work of restorative justice, and the new location will provide additional space for our staff and volunteers to provide support to those involved in the program,” Margaret Clark, manager of Restorative Justice Services, said.
Restorative justice is an approach to justice aimed at addressing the harm caused by crimes, while holding the accused accountable for their actions, and bringing about commitments from the perpetrators to take steps to address the harm they caused other individuals, businesses, or the community at large.
