Over $9M in capital projects to planned for 2025

Greater Vernon has a number of capital projects that will carry over or begin next year.

A preliminary 2025 Capital Budget, presented to the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee (GVAC) Wednesday, Nov. 6, showed there were 27 projects planned for 2025, with a value of $9,126,863.

Those projects included:

  • Pipe replacement on 40th Avenue between 20th and 27th Streets – $1.423,135
  • Replace the valves and air valves on Duteau transmission main (multiple phases) – $1,300,000
  • Lardeau Way construction from Alvaston Place to Heritae Drive, including cul-de-sacs – $1,247,050
  • Pipe main connections from Foothills to BX – $1,069,416
  • 38th Street construction and pipe replacement from Hawksbill Place to the south cul-de-sac – $1,000,670
  • Repairing Aberdeen Dam’s low level output – $600,000
  • Purchasing a spare hydro generation cell for the Duteau Creek Water Treatment Plant – $200,000
  • Purchase statutory right of ways for pipemains and other water infrastructure – $100,000
  • Technological review and preliminary design fo the replacement of UV at Mission Hill Water Treatment Plant – $100,000
