Poppy campaign supports local hospice society

The Legion has provided some aid to the organization that provides end-of-life care.

The Royal Canadian legion Brach 25, through the annual Poppy Campaign, donated $10,000 to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.

“We believe that the North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) shares our commitment to caring for those in need,” Kyle Swaenepoel, CD branch president, said.

“By partnering with organizations like yours, we can ensure that our veterans and their families receive the support and compassion they deserve. As many veterans and their families have or will use the facilities at the NOHS. With NOHS continued support of our community, veterans and their families, we believe that the funds that were given to NOHS have been well deserved.”

The Poppy Campaign is the legion’s largest fundraiser of the year and goes to provide a variety of services to veterans and their families such as financial assistance, remembrance programs, veteran services, youth programs, and community outreach.
