Oct 25, 2024 | 6:00 AM

A Lumby woman accused of criminal neglect is due in court at the end of the month.

Keisha Mari McCrea is facing a charge of Failure to Provide Necessities of Life, in connection with a death of a child four years ago.

McCrea was last in court in March of this year, where she entered a not guilty plea.

Brian William Harold Chciuk was also charged in the crime, but on Oct. 8, 2024, Crown Counsel stayed the charges against him.

McCrea is due to appear in Vernon Law Courts Wednesday, Oct. 30, for a fix date hearing.

The incident in question occurred in April, 2020, and saw Vernon North Okanagan RCMP assist B.C. Emergency Health Services in Lumby. The child was flown to Kelowna but died the following day.
