All-Candidates Forum

Just three of eight local candidates confirmed for SENS Candidates Forum

The answers will be limited at the all-candidates forum held by the Sustainable Environment Network Society (SENS).

The event billed as an opportunity for candidates in the Vernon-Lumby and Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream provincial ridings to answer questions put forward by SENS, along with some submitted by members of the public, will have less than half the expected participants.

Julia Lissau of SENS told Vernon Matters that just three of the eight declared candidates had confirmed they would participate in the forum, with two others possibly participating but not confirmed. Lissau did not disclose which of the candidates were going to be involved.

She did note that the public had submitted eight or nine questions and that those would be posed to the candidates. All the questions will have an environmental aspect to them.

The forum will go at the Vernon Towne Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3

The event will also be live-streamed through the SENS Facebook page, and saved so it can be seen there at a later date.
