It is with great sadness, the family of Inga-Britt Grothoff announce her passing in Vernon, BC, at the age of 87.
Inga-Britt was born and raised in Sweden on a farm with her parents and 11 siblings. Her adventurous spirit brought her to Canada at the age of 22. She quickly met her husband Frank and they began a love story together in North Vancouver. They married in 1960 and had four daughters.
In 1979 they made their big move to Vernon where Frank and family built their forever home. A home she took great pride in.
Inga-Britt and Frank started a vacation rental and horseback trail/riding business on their acreage in 1990. They enjoyed many guests over the years and some became lifelong friends. She loved horses and her family. She also enjoyed country music, singing and dancing. She loved life and lived well.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; daughters, Annette (Don), Nadine (Elroy), Stephanie (Jason), Christa (Joe); grandchildren, Axel, Ryley, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Ashton; siblings, Anna-Lisa, Marianne (twin sister) and Christine. She was predeceased by her parents, eight siblings and granddaughter Alexa.
To honor our mother’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to privately celebrate Inga’s memory in your own ways. The family and close friends will have a small private gathering to celebrate her life, at a later date.
