UPDATE: Mobile home fire in Vernon quickly extinguished

First responders were called to the scene of a mobile home fire in Vernon over the noon hour.

Dispatch reports at around 12:35 p.m. Thursday, June 20, stated flames were showing from a single storey structure at the Big Chief RV Park on 25th Avenue.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) members on the scene stated it was a “third alarm” fire and called in additional supports for controling the blaze, which at the time was contained to inside the mobile home

The City of Vernon said crews quickly gained access to the mobile home, actioned the fire, and limited the damage to a single room.

No one was injured in the fire, which was out by 12:50 p.m., and the cause remains under investigation.
