It is with deep sadness, that the family of Sonia Annette Stogryn announce her passing on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Sonia was 85 years of age and resided at the Polson Extended Care Home, Vernon, British Columbia.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Greg (Lana), Michelle (Paul), and Marcy; ten grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, with another one on the way; sisters, Donna (Gordon) and Rosemarie as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by her oldest son, Walter Gary (2012) and her youngest sister, Ann (1995).

Sonia’s family would like to thank everyone for the supportive texts and phone calls we received following our Mother’s passing. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Polson North (Vernon) and at Orchard Manor (Kelowna) for the exceptional care and attention given to Sonia. To Dr. Boucher and Dr. Nardine and staff, thank you for your kindness, respect and thoughtfulness while caring for our mother.

With respect to Sonia’s wishes, no formal Service will be held. Cremation has taken place. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Sonia to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon at heartandstroke.ca or the Alzheimer’s Society of BC at alzheimer.ca
