Bike Park opening early at SilverStar

Mountain bikers will get an extra weekend to hit the jumps and trails this year.

SivlerStar Mountain Resort has announced it will open its Bike Park for a bonus weekend on June 15 and 16, with the Comet Chair running on both days.

“We had a quick snow melt which has allowed our trail crew to get out on the mountain early to upgrade trails and get the park ready a week ahead of our scheduled opening,” Director of Events, Sales and Marketing, Ian Jenkins, said.

“We’re really excited to open early especially on our milestone 30th anniversary year. We can’t wait for our community to have more time to ride and enjoy the amazing conditions we’ll have here in the park throughout this summer.”

The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the bonus weekend.

It will be closed after the weekend, and then reopen for the resort’s official opening day on Friday, June 21.

Celebrations are planned for the grand opening weekend, with Jesse Roper scheduled to kick off SilverStar’s 30th season with a performance on Saturday the 22nd.

Roper is a Canadian blues musician from Victoria.
