The new city hall building in West Kelowna has officially been opened.

Members of city council cut the ribbon on the new facility at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway on Tuesday, May 21.

The building also houses the Okanagan Regional Library, MP and MLA offices, ICBC, and ServiceBC.

The former City Hall at Mt. Boucherie Community Centre, which was used for 15 years, closed its doors on May 17.

The milestone opening comes 17 years after West Kelowna was incorporated as a city.

The event will be on Friday, May 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the facility at 1500 Rosewood Drive.

More than 19,600 residents receive their water from the new plant.

Limited, guided tours are also being offered on May 31 and can be booked by calling 778-797-1234.
