In loving memory of Bryan Wiens:
Bryan Wiens, a man whose life was a testament to dedication, love, and peace, passed away April 24th doing what he loved most – surrounded by friends, nature, and the green expanse of a golf course. Born in Radville, Saskatchewan in 1953, Bryan’s journey through life was marked by hard work, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures that surrounded him. An avid outdoorsman in his youth, Bryan never lost his love of fishing, camping and being in nature.
Bryan’s professional path led him to Edmonton, where he dedicated years of service to the City of Edmonton until his well-deserved retirement to Vernon. His commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family. Bryan was a pillar of strength and love for his beloved wife, Donna, and his daughters, Stacey (Donison) and Becky (Renfroe), and their husbands (Brad Donison and David Renfroe) and their families.
A late-in-life father, Bryan’s family was his greatest source of pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a round of golf, a family dinner, or simply basking in the warmth of their presence. But perhaps Bryan’s greatest joy came from his role as a grandfather. His grandchildren – Josh, Sydney, and Kona – held a special place in his heart, and he found immense joy in their laughter, their hugs, and their various achievements. Bryan’s love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and his legacy of love and laughter will live on through them.
Bryan’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. Yet his spirit will continue to inspire us to live each day with kindness, and the ability to whole-heartedly enjoy the simple things. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the incredible man he was and the profound impact he had on all our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in Bryan’s honour. A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held this summer, where friends and family can come together to share stories, laughter, and memories of a life well lived.
Bryan Wiens will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, forever remembered for the love and light he brought into our lives.
