Kelowna council has implemented Stage 1 water use restrictions for all customers on the Kelowna Water Utility.

That means odd numbered addresses can water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, while even numbers are limited to Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

In-ground irrigation can run between midnight and 6 a.m., while manual sprinklers can go between 6 and 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and midnight on assigned days.

The Okanagan continues to experience drought conditions which is trending to an anticipated shortage in supply of water in the non-potable water system, which supplies southeast Kelowna.

Kelowna council says farmers must have the correct information as early as possible in the growing season and plan their operations accordingly.

Staff will work closely with agricultural customers to ensure they stay within their 2024 allotment.
