John Arthur Kitchen, age 84, of Vernon, British Columbia passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
We regret to announce the passing of John Arthur Kitchen, fondly known as Jack. Jack was born in Regina Saskatchewan on October 30, 1939.
Jack’s life was defined by his career in the printing industry, notably contributing to newspapers such as the Leader Post and Calgary Herald. He also had a huge love for gardening and sports. Jack’s love story with Florence spanned over four decades, exemplifying the true meaning of partnership and commitment. Jack and Florence met in Regina Saskatchewan and then moved to Calgary Alberta where they raised their family. In retirement, Jack and Florence moved to Vernon, BC where they enjoyed the warmer winters and a plethora of crib games with their new friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ethel Kitchen, brother Ted, sister Yvonne and his wife Florence. He is survived by his devoted daughter Anne and her husband Troy, as well as his grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan.
Throughout his life, Jack’s strong spirit and charismatic personality left a mark on the hearts of those he loved. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his memory will forever remain with his family and those who knew him.
A service will be held for Jack at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Friday February 2, 2024 at 12:30pm.
