Highway reopens near Falkland following collision

BC Emergency Health Services says one person was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after a motor vehicle incident south of Falkland.

A motor vehicle incident south of Falkland led to the highway being shut down.

Dispatch reports said a crash involving “six people” occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Further details on the collision, including the condition of those involved or the exact location of the crash, were not provided.

DriveBC said the highway reopened around 1:10 p.m.

Vernon Matters has reached out to the RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services for information on the incident.

The closure comes a day after a two-vehicle crash west of Falkland claimed the lives of four people on Tuesday.
