Dec 1, 2023 | 12:00 PM

Southeastern B.C. did not see any change to drought conditions on a weekly basis.

The B.C. River Forecast Centre reported the Okanagan Basin was still ranked at Drought Level 2 as of Thursday, Nov. 30, meaning adverse affects to socio-economic and ecosystem values due to conditions were unlikely.

The South Thompson, Similkameen, Coldwater River, North Thompson and Lower Thompson basins were also all ranked Level 2, unchanged from the week prior.

The Upper Columbia Basin remained the sole area in the Interior ranked at Level 1, indicating adverse impacts would be rare.

The Salmon River, Nicola, Lower Columbia and West Kootenay basins were unchanged at Level 3, which means adverse impacts due to conditions were possible.

The Kettle and East Kootenay were also unchanged and ranked the highest in the Interior at Drought Level 4 as of Thursday. Level 4 indicates adverse impacts to ecosystem and economic values are likely.
