Work could lead to extra odours from Vernon’s water reclamation centre

Vernon’s Water Reclamation Centre may be emitting some excess odours next week.

Crews will be conducting maintenance work on the facility starting as early as Monday, Dec. 4, which may result in increased smells from the site.

The work is expected to be complete by Friday, Dec. 8, and it should not have any impacts on the daily operations on the facility.

The City of Vernon stated efforts will be made to reduce the odours leaving the site, though acknowledged that some additional smell may be unavoidable.
