Change of leadership for SD83

The North Okanagan Shuswap board of education (School District 83) has a new leader.

Amanda Krebs of Salmon Arm was elected chairperson of the five-person board at a special meeting Oct. 31.

Corryn Grayston, trustee for Columbia Shuswap Regional District Areas C, F & G, was elected vice-chairperson.

Krebs takes over the chair from Marianne VanBuskirk of Salmon Arm.

Tennile Lachmuth, representative for Armstrong, Spallumcheen and CSRD Area D, was chosen as SD83’s B.C. School Trustees’ Association provincial councillor.

Brent Gennings, the trustee for Enderby, Sicamous, CSRD Area E and RDNO Area F, will be the B.C. Public Schools Employers’ Association representative.

The next regular meeting of the board is on Tuesday, November 21 at 6 p.m. at the District Education Support Centre in Salmon Arm.
