107.5 BEACH RADIO AND VERNONMATTERS.CA JUNIOR BROADCASTER CONTEST

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

These rules apply to the Junior Broadcaster Contest (“Contest”) conducted by 107.5 Beach Radio and VernonMatters.ca (“Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted at www.vernonmatters.ca apply to this Contest. If there is a conflict between the General Contest Rules and the Rules for this Contest, the Rules for this Contest shall control.

HOW TO ENTER

a. The Contest will end on February 28, 2024.

b. To enter online, visit www.vernonmatters.ca and follow the links and instructions to enter the Contest and complete and submit the online entry form beginning on Monday, September 4, 2024, at 9:00 am Pacific Time (“PT”) and ending on February 28, 2024, at 11:59 pm PT (“Online Entry Period”). Online entrants are subject to all notices posted online including but not limited to the Station’s Privacy Policy. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Entries submitted may not be acknowledged or returned. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by the Contest administrator.

c. Entrants will be required to nominate a child or youth ages 11-17 (the “Nominee”) residing in British Columbia, Canada and upload a text entry. Entrants must fill in all required fields, including name, email, phone number, and date of birth in the online entry form. Obscene, provocative, or otherwise objectionable content will not be considered, and such determination is solely at the discretion of the Station. Entrant must be the parent/legal guardian of the Nominee.

d. Entrants may submit multiple nominations but may nominate a Nominee a maximum of one (1) time during the Entry Period. A Nominee may be nominated multiple times, but only if by different entrants. Nominees are eligible to win in the Contest only once.

e. There will be up to a total of one (1) Grand Prize-winning Nominee selected in the Contest for each month of the Contest run (November, December, January, February, and March).

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

1. This Contest is open to all Station listeners who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry into the Contest, who are legal Canadian residents (excluding residents of Quebec), and who reside in British Columbia, except where prohibited by law. Winners must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of residency to verify eligibility. These eligibility restrictions apply to the entrant.
2. Prizes will be awarded to the parent/legal guardian of the Nominee listed on the online entry form.

 PRIZES

1. A total of five (5) Grand Prizes will be awarded over the length of the promotion. One (1) “Nominee” will be selected for each month of the promotion (November, December, January, February, and March) to be a Junior Broadcaster. Each Grand Prize consists of four (4) tickets to a Vernon Vipers home game during the 2024/2025 season (valid for Grand Prize-winning Nominee and three (3) guests, including a parent/legal guardian), a meet and greet with the Graham Turnbull and Vernon Vipers broadcast team in the broadcast booth. No Retail Value.  Winners will also receive a $100 gift card to Match Eatery and Public House.  Alcohol will not be served to patrons under 19 years of age.

The winner will be solely responsible for all taxes and all other fees and expenses not specified herein associated with the receipt and use of the prize(s). The prize(s) is awarded as is. Tickets are valid only on the date(s) printed on the tickets. Tickets are not refundable or transferable, and may not be substituted or exchanged for cash or credit at any time, nor will tickets be replaced if lost or stolen. Tickets may not be sold to a third party. If a prize-related event is unable to take place as scheduled, for reasons such as cancellation, pre-emption, postponement or unavailability, including for weather, or for any reason beyond control of the Station and/or prize provider, their sole responsibility to the winner(s) will be to award the remaining available elements of the prize(s) and no substitution or compensation will be provided for the unawarded element(s) of the prize(s). The Station and/or venue, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to deny entry to or to remove the winner(s) and/or guest(s) if either engages in disruptive behavior, does not follow Station and/or venue policy regarding COVID-19 guidelines, or in a manner with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person at the prize-related event. Winner understands that there are inherent risks involved in attending the prize-related event.

1. Prizes or prize certificates must be claimed as described by the Station at the time of winning. Failure to claim Prize by the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize. It is the winner’s sole responsibility to claim the Prize or prize certificate within the timeline provided in these Official Rules.

SELECTION OF WINNERS

1. One (1) Grand Prize-winning Nominee will be selected each month during the contest period (October, November, December, January, February, and March). Selection of each month’s winner and the game they will attend is as follows:

1. Station-conducted random drawing from all Nominees. The parent/legal guardian of the potential Grand Prize-winning Nominee will be notified by phone and/or email promptly following the random drawing. Essays will not be judged for the purpose of selecting a Grand Prize-winning Nominee.
2. Odds of winning the Grand Prize depend on the number of eligible online entries received during the Online Entry Period.
3. Entrants/Nominees need not listen to the Station or be present to win.
4. The parent/legal guardian of the Grand Prize-winning Nominee must confirm acceptance of prize within seven (7) days of winning, or risk disqualification and selection of an alternate Grand Prize-winning Nominee (time permitting) in a random drawing of all remaining eligible entries.
5. Decisions of Station management with respect to the Contest are final.

RELEASE OF PRIVACY RIGHTS

By entering the Contest, each declared winner consents to the contest organizers and their representatives using, at their sole discretion and if required, their name, photograph, likeness, testimonial related to the prize, place of residence and/or voice without compensation whatsoever and that, without limit as for the period of use, in any media and on a worldwide scale, for publicity purposes or for any purpose that may be considered relevant.
