Vipers to honour former owner at home opener
The Vernon Vipers’ first home game of the new BC Hockey League season, will be extra special.
The team will pay tribute to their former owner, Duncan Wray, at the game against the Cranbrook Bucks at Kal Tire Place Saturday, Sept. 23.
Wray owned the Vipers (formerly Vernon Lakers) from 1992 until his passing in 2018 at age 68.
“The special evening will kick off with a Vipers alumni barbeque followed by an outside ceremony where the access lane in front of Kal Tire Place will be named after Wray. Another ceremony will take place before puck drop at 6 p.m. inside Kal Tire Place,” the Vipers stated on their website.
