March 30, 1946 – August 9, 2023
Bill was born March 30, 1946 in Montreal, Quebec. He passed in Vernon in his home, August 9, 2023 with family and friends around him. We lived many places in our married life of 55 years. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sue; our sons, Tony, Jason (Shelley) and grandchildren; Cloe and Lyndon; three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Bill spent his High School years in my hometown of Semans, Sask. Bill and I never got to know each other until the last day of grade 1. Then he went to Saskatoon and I went to Nursing School in Regina. We married in 1968 and he was town Constable in Star City Saskatchewan, where he also did irrigation. Bill ended up in Technical School in Moose Jaw where he got his Industrial Instrumentation. We went to Calgary where he ended up working for ITT Barton.
In the following years we ended up in Fort St-John, BC with Bill working for Petro-Canada. In 2008 we were in Grande Prairie, Alberta and we retired that year to Moose Jaw for 5 years, but the call of grandchildren was strong and he finally answered the call and Vernon became our home in 2013.
In all the years we moved, he’d coach our boys in any sport they chose, if he couldn’t coach he was an avid fan! Bill had a deep sense of pride in his family. He was the landscape and irrigation guy for 9 years in our Strata.
Bill was a kind, gentle, generous person, he would help anyone that needed him, he never complained. If something amused him, you would see that quiet little smile and the twinkle in his eyes!
He will be dearly missed!
