Man found shot on rural North Okanagan property

A man suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot at a property in Spallumcheen.

RCMP were called to the 4800 block of Grandview Flats Road South around 11:55 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13.

Police received a report of multiple gunshots coming from the rural property, and when they got to the site, they found a 31-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

“The man is known to police and has been less than forthcoming with investigators,” Const. Chris Terleski said. “From our initial investigation, this appears to be a targeted attack and there is no known risk to the public.”

As part of the investigation, police have secured a residence in the area that is believed to be related to the incident.
