Vernon ready to add new firefighter recruits at Predator Ridge

Vernon Fire Rescue Services is set to roll-out improvements to the fire response at Predator Ridge Resort.

The department said in a report to city council, it has 10 new auxiliary firefighters on track to compete their basic training requirements and orientation by early July.

“This will enable a year round auxiliary response from Station 3 which we plan to put into service on July 12, 2023,” the report said.

To celebrate the milestone, the department will host an open house at the Predator Ridge Firehall on July 11.

The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. with a short ceremony at 5 p.m. followed by a barbecue at 5:30 p.m.

It is an invite only event, and is designed to be an opportunity for the Predator Ridge community to come out and meet the new auxiliary firefighters.

The Predator Ridge Firehall was officially opened on January 13, 2015.
