Wanda Brenner March 27,1966- April 29, 2023
In loving memory ~
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine always warm upon your face,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand
Until we meet again.
Our bright light of love, joy and kindness,
Wanda, Mary, Goldie Brenner (Colombo),
passed away peacefully at Hospice House, after a very long courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
Her biggest concern, right up to the end, was to make sure that her husband and her children were all right and supporting each other without her, with graduations, birthdays and many life events in the near future.
Wanda’s life calling was caring for others, not just for her family and friends, but also for those who could not care for themselves, either in a group home setting or as a home care provider for more than 30 years.
Wanda loved entertaining and cooking for friends and families, whenever there was an occasion to celebrate anything, the more people the merrier.
She loved living in Lumby, in her dream home that her husband and soul mate Frank had built for her and the kids. The home was always open to her family, her friends, her children’s friends for problem solving, sleep overs or just plain visits.
Wanda was an animal lover, she cared for her dogs, goats, cats, even the pig. She walked their land with all of them daily, until she could not walk anymore.
Wanda loved life and enjoyed travelling with her husband and the kids in their 5th Wheel. Another past time she enjoyed with her husband was playing pool, where they met 23 years ago. They also enjoyed indoor target shooting at the German Club in Kelowna.
Wanda had a contagious laugh and a wonderful sense of humour.
She built a family of friends and has touched many lives with her kindness, helpfulness and love in every assignment she accepted.
Wanda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Wanda was predeceased by her mother Sylvia and her father Frank.
She is missed and remembered in spirit and her endless joy by her loving husband Frank, her daughters Natasha (Brandon) and Julie, her sons Christopher and Link, her brothers Gerry and Lorne, her mother in-law Rose, her grandchildren Rudy, Tripp and little Angel Remington, who she all loved dearly, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, close relatives and friends.
The Brenner family wishes to thank the North Okanagan Hospice staff and volunteers for their outstanding care and dignity during Wanda’s last weeks of her life. We are certain, that Wanda touched your heart and made you smile.
Wanda’s wishes were to have a Celebration of Life for family and friends.
On July 27th, we will honour the memory of Wanda’s life.
It will be casual, drop in after 5 PM, 155 Louie View Drive, Lumby, BC.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish, can make a donation in her memory, to the Vernon Hospice House, or the Vernon SPCA.
