The OKIB rescinded the order originally issued May 3 for the area south of Parker Cove and Whiteman’s Creek at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11.

The First Nation stated some of the properties may have been disconnected from B.C. Hydro services as a precaution while under the order.

Residents without power will need to have a certified electrician inspect the property and sign-off on a request for B.C. Hydro to restore service.

The evacuation orders that were issued for other areas in the Parker Cove community remained in effect as of time of publication.

The areas under the evacuation orders are closed to non-emergency personnel, and the OKIB noted several drones have been spotted flying over the affected areas and reminds people drones are not permitted within the areas either.

The OKIB Emergency Support Services operations centre at #8 Bonneau Rd. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 12.

The centre will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with operations resuming at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16.
