The Grant family, owners of a decades-old local business in downtown Vernon at 3419 31 Avenue, continues to re-invent the store in the heart of big box territory.

Simply Delicious Natural and Gourmet Market are across the street from discount grocer FreshCo and beside Shoppers Drug Mart.

“Simply Delicious has been in Vernon for over 40 years, it started as a bulk food store and evolved into a health food store, we still supply a wide variety of bulk foods for cooking, baking, and snacking,” Co-Owner Cameron Grant said. “Along the way Simply Delicious has added quality vitamins, local produce, meat and dairy, spices, and hard-to-find cooking ingredients.”

Last year’s massive floods in the Fraser Valley that cut-off supply lines to the interior highlighted the importance of stores like Simply Delicious Natural and Gourmet Market, that stock locally supplied products.

“When the floods took out the highway and some of the staple foods couldn’t get through, we had a bunch of customers coming to our store, we didn’t run out of milk, bread, and eggs, because we get those from local suppliers that weren’t affected by the floods,” Grant noted.
