How To Scare A Bear

There have been a number of bear sightings in Vernon over the past few weeks, including a call this morning about a brown bear in the East Hill.

They say the best way to keep the bears from coming around is to eliminate potential food sources on your property; namely, accessible garbage cans. Sometimes, though, the bears will just keep coming around – especially if they’ve found food there before.

The video shows how some folks in Salem, Virginia took care of a bear trying to find supper in their trash bin. Now the poor bear will have clown nightmares too.
