Ride sharing service launches in Vernon

As of this afternoon (Jan. 27), Vernon and area residents will have an alternative transportation option to access.

Uride is launching it’s service in Vernon starting at 3 p.m.

“We have an incredible team of drivers who are fully committed to preventing impaired driving and providing the people of Vernon with a safe, reliable and affordable transportation option,” Ravi Dhami, Western Canada operations manager for Uride, said.

The Canadian ridesharing company is offering local residents some incentives to use the service.

As part of the launch campaign, Uride will offer users $5 off all rides between Jan. 27 and Feb. 5 when using the promotion code VERNON5.

Additionally, people who use the promo code will be entered into a draw for a $250 cash prize.

In order to use the service, riders have to download the Uride app on the App store or Google Play store.

Uride also operates in Kelowna and Kamloops, along with other Canadian cities.
