Vernon Aquatic Centre bringing back Toonie Swims

Families and individuals looking to go for a swim this winter at the Vernon Aquatic Centre will be able to get in for cheap at select times.

Greater Vernon Recreation Services is bringing back the Toonie Swims at the facility, starting with three public swims during the holiday break.

• Saturday, Dec. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 31 from 2 to 4 p.m.
• Saturday, Jan. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Following the holidays, the Aquatic Centre will offer Toonie Swims each Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. through the remainder of the winter.

“Swimming and playing in the water are good for both your mental and physical health,” Gary Lefebvre, aquatics manager, said.

The pool schedule can be found at the City of Vernon’s website, and people are advised to contact the Vernon Recreation Centre at 250-545-6035 with their questions regarding programs.
