Remembrance Day service returns to Kal Tire Place
Vernon’s Remembrance Day service will be back at Kal Tire Place (KTP) on Friday, Nov. 11, after two years of scaled-down, smaller events at the city’s Cenotaph due to the pandemic.
Sandra Patterson, poppy chair of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 in Vernon, said they wanted to hold services at both the Cenotaph and KTP this year, but it was not possible.
“The RCMP said they did not have enough people to man both sites, security wise, so we have gone with Kal Tire Place so we can accomodate more people,” Patterson told Vernon Matters.
Patterson said they expect to see a big crowd for the ceremony.
