Coldstream’s mayor is seeking another term, but not in his current position.

Jim Garlick, who has been the district’s mayor for 14 years over four terms, has filed his nomination package as a candidate for councillor in the District of Coldstream.

Garlick served as a councillor in Coldstream for three years prior to becoming mayor in 2008 when he defeated Glen Taylor, a current councillor.

He joins current councillors Pat Cochrane and Doug Dirk in seeking the six councillor seats.

The district’s website also shows that Alex Dantzer and Don Jefcoat have submitted their paperwork to run for councillor.

As of time of publication, no one had submitted their bid to fill the mayor’s seat in Coldstream.

Candidates have until September 9 to file their papers and get their name on the ballot

The public will go to the polls and cast their votes for mayor and council at the 2022 General Local Election on October 15.
