Flood alert remains in effect in Lumby
The creek levels are still very high in Lumby, and the Localized Flooding Alert issued Tuesday remains in place.
“Bessette Creek has rescinded slightly, but Duteau Creek has slightly risen,” Tom Kadla, chief administrative officer for the Village of Lumby, told Vernon Matters.
“There’s also localized flooding on Quesnel Road which has receded. Other areas and properties along Duteau and Bessette are still at that flooding alert, just to be aware of the creeks and the rising [water levels].”
The alert remains in place for 2176 to 2264 Quesnel Road; Saddle Mountain Place on Glencaird Street; 1620 to 1801 Maple Street (Shields Avenue to Quesnel Road); and 1351 to 1580 Shuswap Avenue (properties south of the fire hall).
