New leaders in charge of Greater Vernon BC Games
The Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games Society has announced new leadership for the Games, now set to be held in March 2023.
Nicky Dunlop, executive director of the PovNet Society, is the new president of the society and Cindy Masters, executive director of the Okanagan Village Housing Society, is the vice president.
Local organizers recently confirmed new dates for the event after deciding not to proceed with the Games this year because of a number of factors including the COVID-19 pandemic, last fall’s flooding, and last summer’s wildfires in many parts of the province. The Games, expected to attract up to 1,800 participants in 17 sport competitions, will now be held March 23 to 26, 2023.
Val Trevis and Teresa Durning have completed their roles as president and vice president after leadign the society for 18 months.
