Ukraine flag to fly for three more weeks

Vernon City Hall is not taking down the Ukrainian flag any time soon.

At its regular meeting Monday, March 28, Vernon council was presented with a resolution to keep Ukraine’s flag up for another three weeks.

The motion, put forward by Mayor Victor Cumming, was passed unanimously and without discussion.

The flag was originally raised in Vernon with a three week timeline on March 2 in a show of support and solidarity for Ukraine as it faces a Russian invasion.
