Vipers treat families to 2-1 win over Spruce Kings

A big crowd of 2,423 came out on Family Day to see the Vernon Vipers edge the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1.

Matt Culling scored both goals for Vernon, in the first and second periods, while Roan Clarke turned aside 28 shots for the win in net in the afternoon BCHL contest .

John Herrington was the only Spruce King to hit the scoresheet.

The win improved the Vipers record to 20-16-4-3, good enough for sixth place in the Interior Division, one point back of the fifth place Cranbrook Bucks.

The Vipers next play Friday in Trail at 7:00 p.m.
