Vipers cooled-off in 5-1 loss to Wild

The Vernon Vipers will have to be content with winning two of their three matchups this week with the Wenatchee Wild.

Parker Murray had a goal and one assist to lead the Wild to a 5-1 win over the Vipers before 2,812 fans at the Town Toyota Centre in Wenatchee, Washington Friday night.

Texas product Copeland Fricker, with his first BCHL goal of the season shorthanded, was the only offence the Vipers could muster, going 0 for 4 on the power play.

The loss ended a two game win streak for Vernon who fell to 19-16-4 and 3, in 6th place in the Interior Division.

The Vipers will host the Prince George Spruce Kings at 2 p.m. Monday (Family Day) at Kal Tire Place, their first game since the capacity limits were lifted.

In in the KIJHL Friday, the North Okanagan Knights trimmed the Osoyoos Heat 3-2 in a shootout and host the Summerland Steam at 7:00 p.m. tonight (Feb. 19) at the Nor-Val Centre in Armstrong.

In the WHL, the Kelowna Rockets beat the Prince George Cougars 3-2 in PG.
