The newest quick service restaurant in Vernon is scheduled to open this week.

Triple O’s is located on 27th Street in an adjoined building with Popeyes Louisiana Chicken which opened on Jan. 3.

Triple O’s is part of the White Spot group of companies, based in Vancouver.

Cathy Tostenson, vice president of marketing for Triple O’s, said the Vernon outlet is scheduled to open Wednesday Feb. 9.

“We’re very excited about bringing the great taste of Triple O’s to Vernon,” Tostenson told Vernon Matters.

As for the hiring of staff, Tostenson said that is ongoing with 26 people hired so far.

Akbal Mund, formerly an owner with Wendy’s Restaurants, will be the general manager of Triple O’s.

Mund told Vernon Matters he was still waiting for several pieces of equipment, so he said any opening Wednesday would be later in the day, but, for sure, they will be serving customers on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Mund estimates 65 per cent of their business will be drive thru or take out.

Meantime, the new Taco Time at 2800 27th Street in the former coffee outlet by St. James School, also opens this week. It is take-out only.

Construction of a new Cactus Club Cafe is underway in the former Temptasian site on Anderson Way in Vernon.

Vernon Matters has repeatedly reached out to that company for opening details, but has not heard back.
