Gordon Peter Marrion of Vernon, BC passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2022. His family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy.
Gordon was born on April 12, 1955 to Thomas and Nancy (Bowen) Marrion in Vernon, BC
He attended Vernon Secondary School, then Okanagan College and worked in electronics technology until the early 90’s, after which he became an electrician, working with skill and integrity in this trade until his passing.
Gordon met his wife Roanne in the summer of 1979 in Prince George, BC. They were married at the O’Keefe Ranch Church Sept 5, 1981. Their daughter Jenna was born October 6, 1995. Life took them to several cities in BC and Alberta over the years, but brought them home to Vernon in November 2003.
Gordon was a proud and loving father, organizing his working life so that he could get Jenna to all her high school basketball games and cheer the team on. He was always there to help his wife and daughter through life’s ups and downs and to lend a helping hand to his many friends whenever needed. Gordon’s passion was rebuilding Series I & IIa Land Rovers (originally built in the late 40’s and 50’s) and he met many friends over the years through this consuming interest. He also loved camping, fishing, boating and exploring BC.
Loving husband, adoring father, caring brother, dear friend to so many, a good man. There is a void in our lives now that can never be filled.
Gordon was predeceased by his father Thomas, mother Nancy and grandmother Jane (Jenny) Bowen.
He leaves behind his wife Roanne, daughter Jenna, sisters Patricia and Annette, 2 nieces, 2 nephews and many dear friends.
Contributions in memory of Gordon can be made to the SPCA or an Animal Rescue of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
