It is with broken hearts we announce the unexpected death of Benjamin Faulkner Reis.
Ben was welcomed into the world in Regina, SK on May 7, 1992 by his loving parents September (Amber) Hahn and Tim Reis. The family moved to Vernon, BC when Ben was two. He attended Bearisto Elementary, Seaton and Vernon Secondary, and UBCO.
After school Ben returned to Saskatchewan for a couple of years to work in the oil patch in the Weyburn/Estevan area. Missing the mountains and lakes of the Okanagan Valley Ben returned home to Vernon where he lived until his passing.
Ben was passionate about many sports. He was the quarterback of the Wolverines minor football team where he certainly learned how to take a hit and earned the Coaches Award as Outstanding Player. He enjoyed countless days on many ski hills across Alberta and BC with friends and family, and participated with the Silver Star Freestyle Ski Club. He always enjoyed a round of golf and got a hole in one at the Black Mountain Golf Club in 2016 which he loved talking about. He inherited his parent’s passion for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Canadiens.
Ben is predeceased and in good company with cousins Miguile (Mig) Hahn and Thomas Reis, grandparents Robin Hahn and Bernadette Reis and aunt Raylene Reis. He is survived by very loving parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins and friends.
Ben was a gentle soul, he had a great laugh and a very big heart; he will be remembered as always being concerned about the well-being of people and animals first.
Ben is with others now where the skies are always sunny or as he used to say on the ski hill “it is a bluebird day.”
Ben will be forever missed and never forgotten.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vernon Funeral Home, 250-542-0155. Condolences may be left at www.vernonfuneralhome.com
