Investigation underway into tractor-trailer fire at West Kelowna Walmart
The RCMP have launched an investigation into the fire of a tractor-trailer at the West Kelowna Walmart.
Firefighters responded to reports of smoke at around 2 a.m. Wednesday on Louis Drive, and when crews arrived on the scene, they discovered a tractor-trailer engulfed in flames at the Walmart loading dock.
Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, limiting the damage to the trailer and the exterior of the building. As there was a significant amount of smoke that entered the building, West Kelowna Fire Rescue crews also had to ventilate the structure.
The fire has been deemed suspicious, and the RCMP and West Kelowna fire investigators will be on the scene Wednesday to determine the cause of the blaze.
