Ronald Frank Howe passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021, at the age of 86, while under the care of the nurses and staff at Heritage Square Care Home in Vernon, BC.
Ron was born and raised in Purple Valley, Ontario by his parents, Francis and Kathleen.
In 1952, at 17, Ron headed west to seek opportunities in Vancouver, BC. He worked several jobs in Vancouver, ultimately taking on a career at CN Rail. Starting as a switchman, Ron became a well-respected employee at CN, eventually working his way up the ranks to a manager’s position as a Yard Coordinator. After 35 years of service, in February 1991, Ron retired.
In leisure, Ron enjoyed sports. He was unbeatable at snooker and an avid racquetball player, but his passion was golf. When he retired, Ron and his wife, Bernadette, moved to Vernon, BC to spend most of the days of the week on the golf course.
