Another new heat record for Vernon
The B.C. Ambulance Service has been overloaded the last few days responding to heat-related calls, which also has meant longer times getting through to 9-1-1.
There have been more than 100 heat-related deaths on the Lower Mainland.
As for temperatures on Tuesday, Lytton set a new Canada high at 49.6, while Vernon got up to a record 44.2, beating the previous high of 38.8 set in 2008.
Kelowna reached a record high of 45.2, smashing the previous high of 39.2 set in 2008.
