Coldstream council petitioned for walkway on Aberdeen Road

An online petition has been launched to Coldstream council to consider a sidewalk or pathway along Aberdeen Road.

“As well as being a heavily trafficked roadway with vehicles, it is also heavily trafficked with walking and bike riding pedestrians. With Coldstream Elementary being at the end of the road, the main age bracket of walkers and riders is 5-12 years old, keeping in mind younger siblings of these school aged kids as well,” petitioner Jillian Galeazzi stated on change.org.

The road also runs past the Vernon District Riding Club.

“There needs to be a multi use lane way for pedestrians, bikers and horses. I see car near misses with one of the above almost daily,” Jeff Demetrick, who live near the riding club posted on Facebook.
